Infection Control & Sanitisation Cleaning
A clean workplace is no longer just about looking tidy. In environments where bacteria, viruses, and contamination risks may be present, a standard clean is not always enough. Sometimes the germs need more than a polite warning — they need a proper eviction notice.
At SHS Hygiene, we provide specialist infection control and sanitisation cleaning for commercial premises, helping businesses restore safer, cleaner, and more hygienic working environments. Our trained personnel can carry out targeted sanitisation cleans for facilities that may have been exposed to contamination, using professional methods, appropriate PPE, and agreed cleaning specifications.
We offer two main sanitisation methods depending on the site, risk level, and required outcome.
Manual Sanitisation Application
This method involves the controlled application of a food-safe disinfectant, such as Virusolve+, designed for the decontamination of hard surfaces and compliant with EN 14476 standards.
Our team wears suitable PPE, including P3 masks, full-body overalls, and protective foot coverings. The disinfectant requires a contact time of approximately ten minutes to work effectively.
Once the sanitisation process is complete, the premises — including food preparation areas — can be returned to use after our team has safely completed the work and left site.
Dry Fogging / Misting with Hydrogen Peroxide
For wider-area sanitisation, we can use dry fogging or misting technology to disperse a fine cloud of hydrogen peroxide throughout the space. This mist settles across exposed surfaces, helping to sanitise areas that may be difficult to reach through manual cleaning alone.
The hydrogen peroxide disinfectant used, H2O2 5% S010, includes approximately 0.01% silver, is DEFRA approved, and meets multiple EN standards. It has been shown to be effective against a range of bacteria and contamination risks.
We use specialist equipment such as Halo Disinfection Units and Maestro Electrostatic Sprayers to achieve controlled and effective application.
During this process, our team uses appropriate PPE, including full-face respiratory protection, full-body protective suits, and foot coverings. No personnel without the correct PPE should enter the treated premises for at least two hours after the product has been dispersed.
Combined Sanitisation Approach
In some cases, both manual sanitisation and dry fogging may be used together to achieve a more thorough result. This allows high-touch surfaces to be manually treated while larger areas are also sanitised through misting.
Upon completion, a post-clean certificate can be provided based on the agreed specification, giving your business clear evidence that the work has been carried out professionally.
